On June 25 as I was approaching Allen Gardens to participate in and video the rally and march, I witnessed police confiscating personal property and demanding they search peoples’ belongings. I stopped to video this and was physically moved aside instead of being asked to move. I suspect that this could be described as an assault even though it was minor. When I protested about being handled when a verbal request for me to move aside would have sufficed, one of the officers made a veiled threat that I might be PUSHED over some bicycles laying behind me. The way he said it, ” Ya, but just don’t push him on the bikes” was clearly a threat and at the best possible translation of what he said, he was telling his fellow officer that it was OK to push me, but not on the bikes. I have this on video at http://downbutnotout.synthasite.com/society.php
Just scroll down to the video titled “G20 Protest 2010
This incident may seem minor, but I believe that EVERY INFRINGEMENT OF HUMAN RIGHTS that goes unchallenged only weakens our rights.

Cold. Rough. Two police seized me by the arms and pulled me off.”

This kind of treatment is not uncommon, the police all over this country have become a legalized gang. Even in the town of 7000, where I live, Hanover, Ont. Police there forced their way into our home, claiming that we had two or three hundred dollars worth of stolen property. Guns drawn, and pumped up like steroid junkies, you would have thought we were having our own G20 protest! And no, I don’t find any humor in the way people were treated, I’m simply trying to get the point across that, my wife and I were treaded with the same type of behaviour, 20 or more hours, in a cold, dirty, cell with no information. Meanwhile, they destroyed our apartment, and STOLE our belongings.
